Ipsy Review: October 2017

Hey y’all!  My October Ipsy bag is finally here and I was able to test out all of the products this past week!  Ipsy is seriously my fav.  It gives me something to look forward to every month and also allows me to try new products without breaking the bank.  Overall this was a pretty good bag.  After getting such an amazing bag last month I feel light I kinda had to come back down to the reality of what an average bag is like.  I always have to keep in the back of my mind that I’m not going to love every product in my bag every month, but it’s always fun to get a few things that I know I’m going to love!  This month when I got my sneak peek, I noticed right off the bat that I was getting two well known name brand products (Tarte & It Cosmetics).  So that right there was pretty exciting.  I also got super excited that I was getting a peel off charcoal mask!  So anyways, lets get on with the review before I revel too much.  Hope y’all enjoy!!

1. Nail Medic Charcoal Infused nail Polish in Volcanic Ash – Okay, so I love getting nail polishes in my Ipsy bag and this color is a beautiful steely grey color, but I literally got a similar grey shade in my Ipsy bag last month so this was a little disappointing.  However, the colors are not exact so maybe I can switch back and forth between the two when I am needing a good grey polish.  If not, I’ll just give it to my mom!

2. Context Skin Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream – I’ve never really been a big fan of eye creams, but I’ve always known that I should probably start using them to prevent aging.  Ive really been thinking about my skin care routine lately and this was something I wanted to add to that, so I’m actually glad I got this in my bag this month.  Ive been wanting to test out different eye creams to see which one is best for me.  So far I really like this one, it is very hydrating (which is something I always look for in skin care).  I’m excited to continue to try this product out and who knows, maybe I’ll love it and you’ll see it in one of my next monthly favs.

3. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara – So this is definitely one of my holy grail mascaras.  It is the perfect every day mascara.  With that being said, I usually always have multiples lying around so I wasn’t super excited to be getting this in my bag.  However since it is one of my favs I really can’t be too mad.  I mean I can always use these sample sizes of my favorite products to travel with!

4. Blaq Mask – SOOOOOOO excited to be getting this!  There is nothing I love more than a good charcoal mask, except maybe a PEEL OFF charcoal mask!!!!  I picked up a peel off charcoal mask a few months ago and have used that thing almost all the way up.  So I’ve really been in the market for a new one (and let me tell you, this is not an easy product to find).  Ugh, finally!!  Now I’ve only been able to use this once since receiving it but so far so good.  Fingers crossed this is my new go to peel off mask!

5. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder – YES!!  This was hands down my favorite thing in the bag this month.  I love It Cosmetics’s “Bye Bye” collection.  Seriously some of the best full coverage makeup out there.  I had yet to try this translucent powder so of course when I saw I was getting this I jumped a little.  And let me tell you, it lived up to it’s expectations.  It did exactly what it said it would do.  It erased my pours and was very long lasting.  10/10 I will be repurchasing this when I run out.

I’d Give my October Ipsy bag: 3.5/5

Until Next Time,

  1. Great bag! Sometimes I get disappointed in a bag because I already received something similar or the same recently or from another sub but then I have to remind myself that at least it’s an item I like and I didn’t get something I disliked! lol
