What to Wear: To Thanksgiving Dinner

Just so y’all know, I am dying over here knowing that Thanksgiving is like four days away (if you want to count what’s left of today).  I feel like I’ve had so much on my plate lately that it really snuck up on me and now I’m not as prepared as I’d like to be.  But it is what it is, I’ll be last minute making my part of Thanksgiving lunch per usual.  Now, I say lunch because we have to move dinner up so damn early to be able to do a little Black Friday shopping, which I hate so much.  I miss the days of taking a power nap after Thanksgiving dinner so we can wake up around 9 or so to get in line and wait for stores to open up at midnight.  You stay up super late getting all the good deals yet you still get to spend time with your family (or in my case families).  Now I have to alternate who’s family we get to have a quick Thanksgiving lunch with before we hit the sales.  Ugh I could go on for days about how much I hate this new “Black Friday”, but I’ll spare you.

Anyways, another thing I tend to stress about this time of year is what I’m going to wear. Thanksgiving is the holiday you want to look cute but still be comfortable enough to eat a twelve course meal without needing to take your pants off (I know y’all feel me on this one).  My go to for Thanksgiving is usually a comfy, oversized sweater and some sort of stretchy pants weather they are leggings or jeggings or whatever.  This year I was trying looking everywhere for the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving when I remembered this cute bell-sleeved sweater I bought at the beginning of the year.  So there you have it, my typical Thanksgiving uniform.  Now bring on the FOOD!!!

So I’ve always been on the fence about wearing black and brown together.  Sometimes I’m all over it and other days I feel like they don’t even need to be in the same room together.  I guess it really just depends on what day it is, but as you can see today was one of those days that it just seemed right to me (and changes are I’ll probably hate this look tomorrow).  Now I know that everyone has their own opinion about this, some of us are fashion rule followers and others like to live like the rebels we are.  As long as you love what you’re wearing, that’s really all that matters. One thing I know we can all agree on though, is how obsessed with bell sleeves we are right now.  I  bought this sweater at Plato’s Closet early this year right as the weather was starting to warm up, so I never got the chance to wear it out in public.  It’s literally been sitting in my closet for almost a year just waiting for its opportunity to be shown off.  Well today is finally the day!  I originally wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the large cuffs on the sleeve but the more I stared at these pictures, the more I became obsessed!

I hope everyone has an amazing, food filled Thanksgiving and if you are enduring the craziness of the Black Friday sales, Good Luck!!!

Until Next Time,
c
