What I got for Christmas

Hey Y’all!!  Okay so I’m going to do something a little different than my usual “December Favorites” post, mostly because I feel like most of these items would be on my “December Favorites” post anyways.  I originally didn’t want to do a post like this, it seems kinda like I’m bragging about all of the things I got for Christmas.  But I’ve watched a ton of these videos on Youtube and read a few blogs doing the same things and I really enjoy them so I figured I’d give it a try!  As you all know, Christmas was super busy for me as it is every year!  We did a lot of running around between our families houses as well as packing up our old house and unpacking everything into our new house (which we still haven’t finished unpacking yet, don’t judge).  We are loving being in the new house and I can’t wait to start decorating/renovation so I can do a few posts for y’all on that!

So because this Christmas was so hectic for us with moving, Jared and I decided to forgo gift giving this year and save our money for any renovations/decor we would need for the house!  This was perfect because come to find out, I’m wanting new EVERYTHING for the new house (why not, right?).  Everyone pretty much caught on with the theme of new house new stuff for Christmas gifts this year.  Jared’s parents helped us out with a new TV for our living room as well as restocking my favorite candle.  I have this candle permanently on my Christmas list every year from them, I am obsessed with it.  It is one of those candles that you can just remove the lid and without lighting it, it instantly fills the house with the most amazing coffee smell.  I always light this candle before we have guests over, it makes the house smell warm and inviting!  Now my mom got us a Lowes gift card to help us with paint and light fixtures, but my favorite gift from her was my new hair straightener.  I have been needing a new one for a while now, you know, ever since my last one blew up in mid use a couple months ago (long story short, Anna and I used to dumpster dive at Ulta and I found a new hair straightener that had the cord cut off so Jared rewired it and voila, I had an amazing new hair straightener until I twisted the cord one two many times, ugh!!!), but it’s whatever, I don’t wanna talk about it, no I’m not bitter, I’m fine.  Anyways, my mom ended up getting me the same straightener that I had before because I was obsessed with it and I am so happy to have it back in my life again!  My dad got us this really amazing framed print of our state newspaper from the day after our Lady Gamecocks basketball team won the National Championship!  I love it because it has the coolest custom from with carved out gamecocks all around it.  I’ve always wanted one of these ever since I first started seeing them when our baseball team won back to back National titles a few years ago!  We’ve already hung this up in our FROG (hoping somebody knows what a FROG is, because it seems that everyone I know doesn’t) and I can’t stop staring at it every time I go in this room!

Next is Anna who per usual, was on the same wave length as me and we ended up getting each other cookbooks (typical, we love the same things).  She also got me the cutest peach colored tumbler (because she knows how much I love collection cups).  Lastly is what I got from my grandparents.  Before I go into what they got me I’d like to go on the record saying that I know they spoil me.  I am an only child and up until like ten or so years ago I was the ONLY grandchild.  So it is what it is, I’m used to defending this argument and I’ve come to accept it!  Moving on… So my grandparents got me the pair of Quay High Keys I’ve had my eyes on for the longest time, the silver version of my favorite Sheila Fajl hoops, the softest robe ever, a cute t-shirt from Magnolia Market, as well as a few beauty products like a new Beauty Blender, the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette, some KL Polishes, and this Impressions vanity mirror I have been wanting for awhile.  Needless to say, Santa was good to me this year and I am so excited to use all of these new goodies I got (most of which I have already been using and abusing).

So that’s what I got for Christmas this year!  I’d love to hear what y’all received as well as if you enjoyed this post or thought it was a little pretentious.  PS. as you’ve noticed I’m still slacking a little in the new blog post department.  We are still trying to come down from this new home high, but I promise I will get back on track and back to at least two posts a week sooner rather than later!!  Hope y’all had a great week!
