New Year, Same Me

Just kidding, some things are bound to change!

Okay so first let me start out by saying I have never been one to set my New Year’s resolution to be to “loose weight” or “work out more” simply because I know I am going to slack and eventually loose interest.  I don’t know why but ever since I quit playing tennis competitively I have no dedication to work out.  It is something I have been ashamed of for years and really want to get back on the wagon.  I love to run but prior to moving we didn’t live in the best neighborhood so it was hard to run in our area.  Jared bough me a treadmill a couple years back but it was so hard to maneuver that thing around in the tiny room we kept it in that eventually it turned into a holding place for junk.  So now that we are in the new house I feel like I have no excuse not to atleast try to get back into the swing of things.  Not only do I now have space for my treadmill, but our neighborhood has sidewalks all throughout it.

Now let me go ahead and be the first to admit to y’all that when I say try, that is exactly what I mean.  As of right now I still have little motivation and will power (which baffles me because I used to love working out in high school).  But I really am going to try.  When we moved we just threw everything into our garage and have been slowly unpacking things from in there.  So as of right now my treadmill is in the corner covered in boxes and miscellaneous stuff but I’m so ready to get it cleaned off so I can break her out and hopefully get into a new rhythm!

One thing that does get me a little more excited about working out is cute workout clothes.  Now before y’all go rolling your eyes, I know working out is not a fashion show but to me cute clothes get me excited and I’m banking off the fact that cute work out clothes will get me excited to work out!  I love that “athleisure” is a trend right now because is has every clothing store on the planet carrying really cute workout gear.  I was in Old Navy the other day and literally had to force myself to walk out of the store before I bought every pair of work out pants they had (not an exaggeration).  And don’t let me walk past a LuluLemon, lord knows I have to fork out a chunk of my paycheck just to be able to buy one pair of leggings (but they are so worth it!!).  So until I can get my treadmill cleaned off, I’m gonna be stocking up on new athletic wear to get me excited to work out soon!

Let me know if y’all have any tips or tricks on getting motivated for workouts!

  1. Love your leggings! And I totally have the same issue when it comes to workout clothes. Like to the point where I have to force myself to just put blinders on and walk past them otherwise I will leave the store with something. Over new years it was especially hard because that’s when they have everything on sale! Also, can I just say that your sweatshirt looks so comfy. Might have to pick up one for myself 🙂
